Misael Hernandez is a Mexican American photographer from Springfield, Oregon. His projects utilize landscape and documentary approaches in photography to decipher the culture, religion, and personal identity of people and the terrain they inhabit. Misael is also a photobook designer and a crafter of decorative archival boxes. The exposure to the photobook enamored him to materialize his projects into physical yet delicate pieces. His work utilizes modern binding techniques and an experimental approach to various Asian papers to create and design limited-edition books and zines to showcase his projects.
